Your gifts
to the Walker Foundation continue a tradition of support for the South
Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind that began with the caring
and generosity of the founders, Reverend Newton Pinckney Walker and
Martha L. Hughston Walker. For more than 150 years, the generosity of
many has helped to ensure that those who are deaf, hard of hearing,
blind or visually impaired have access to quality education and
opportunity for independence.
Please
continue that tradition today. Your
annual gift helps to ensure that the day-to-day needs of the
children are met, whatever they may be. It provides the flexibility
that is often needed so that the Foundation can ensure that every child
has proper clothing and medicines, opportunities to participate in field
trips, and access to the latest technology.
Additionally, the Walker Foundation partners with the School on a number
of special Projects that range in
scope from building renovations to a holiday gift for a needy child.
Our Wish List is always being
updated with opportunities to give, whether volunteer hours, items, or
dollars. These are great projects for civic groups, church classes,
fraternal organizations and individuals to undertake!
